The Education Testing Services develops The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test. It is of two types: The General GRE and The Subject GRE.
The General GRE is a standardized test that is designed to measure verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills. The Subject GRE Tests are designed to help graduate school admission committees and fellowship sponsors to evaluate the qualifications of every applicant for their desired fields. The tests are conducted in November, December, and April. GRE consists of three sections Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical Writing. The GRE is held all around the year, five days a week. In India, the GRE test is computer-based and the test is scored out of 1600.
